Coritiba vs Gremio prediction

AI match recap

This is a high-pressure meeting between sides trying to halt poor league runs. Coritiba have the stronger home setting and face a Grêmio defence reshuffled by Kannemann’s suspension, but their own midfield balance is altered by Thiago Santos’s absence. Grêmio’s away attack has lacked fluency, so disciplined defending and transition quality are central to their prospects. The contest should become more open if the first goal arrives before either side settles into a cautious block.

Head-to-head analysis

Grêmio have dominated this fixture in the recent league history and won the reverse meeting this season. Coritiba’s last victory over Grêmio dates back to a much earlier Couto Pereira encounter, so the home side are also trying to break a longstanding psychological barrier.

Injuries and absences

Kannemann’s suspension leaves Grêmio without a key centre-back and makes the communication of Wallace’s pairing a major issue. Coritiba lose Thiago Santos’s protection in midfield, increasing the importance of whoever anchors the first defensive line.
